The University of Southampton is one of the UK’s top 15 research universities after the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise. We are a member of the influential Russell Group – an association of 20 major UK research universities.
Description
As a research student you will be registered initially for the MPhil and are then transferred to PhD after a period of satisfactory progress. Minimum registration periods are: one year for the MPhil (two years part-time); two years for the PhD (3 years part-time). In practice you should expect to spend at least one more year of study than these minimum periods. You will normally be required to attend designated Research Training Courses within the Southampton Business School and elsewhere at the University. The School also supports research students to attend and present their work at international conferences.
