The Department of Engineering- Leicester University, is one of the largest departments in the University, with around 600 undergraduate and 100 postgraduate students and researchers, more than 35 academic staff and a similar number of support staff. The department is internationally renowned for quality research and excellent teaching, and has links with many of the world’s major engineering companies.

Description

The Department is internationally renowned for the quality of its research. In the 2014 Research Excellence Framework (REF), the Department submitted over 90% of its academic staff. The quality profile, as judged by the REF, showed that 90% of the research was internationally excellent or world leading in terms of originality, significance, and rigour. 16% of our papers were judged to be world leading. The Department of Engineering includes these research groups: Bioengineering Control Systems Electrical Power and Power Electronics Embedded Systems and Communications Mechanics of Materials Thermofluids The Department is also home to the Centre for Systems Neuroscience.

Requirements

    UK undergraduate (Bachelors) degree with at least first class or upper second class honours. OR 2. An equivalent qualification from a recognised overseas institution. 3. Applicants will have satisfied the English language entry requirement if they have successfully completed one of the three approved English language tests: ->IELTS (International English Language Testing Systems) - Academic Version ->TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) - Internet Based Test ->PTE (Pearson Test of English) - Academic Version 4. Other English language tests and other versions of the above tests - such as the IELTS (General Version) - are not accepted under any circumstances.
